README.TXT FOR RACER VERSION 6.1 SERVICE PACK RACER Version 6.1 Service Pack Features: · Revised the code for Residual Waste Management that was causing errors such as clicking reset doubles total quantity on Disposal tab. · Includes missing assemblies for Bioslurping Operations and Maintenance (O&M)* · Revised the code for the division of labor between the Prime Contractor and Subcontractors in O&M* · Fixed code for O&M that was causing the run time percent to be applied twice.* · Revised Unit of Measure from square feet to acres (UOM) for assembly 33111026 (broadcast seeds with tractor spreader).* · Revised Decontamination Facilities technology so that decon water quantities are now being passed to the Residual Waste Management technology. · Changed the User Defined Estimate technology so that the Assemblies and reports tabs will not be activated until a WBS or ECES is selected. · Revised O&M so that when you change an assembly cost in Step 11, and then try to reset the cost, you will no longer get an error message. · Revised the Technology Description links · Repriced 390 assemblies in the database. For a list of the affected assemblies, please download and/or read the file RACER 6.1 Assembly Changes.pdf. · Enhancements have been made to the upgrade process in order to facilitate upgrades of FUDS specific RACER databases. · Updates RACER Version number to 6.1.12. * note: these functions are not retroactive to previously completed estimates. ********************************************************************** INSTALLING RACER VERSION 6.1 SERVICE RELEASE ON YOUR COMPUTER The procedure for installing RACER Version 6.1 Service Release on your computer involves the following steps: 1. Verify that RACER 2004 (RACER v. 6.0.0) is currently installed on your computer. To do this, start RACER, and select "Help" and then "About" from the main screen. DO NOT INSTALL this Service Release if you have RACER 2003 or earlier on your computer. 2. Insert Installation Disk into the CD-ROM drive on your computer or download RACER Version 6.1 Service Release installation file from Earth Tech's FTP site (ftp://racer@ftp.earthtech.com/Service Pack 6.1/RACER 2004 SR1.exe) to your Windows desktop. If your firewall will not let you download an executable file, there is a version of the Service Release in a WinZip format (RACER 2004 SR1.zip). 3. Use the Search tool (Start Menu -- Search -- For Files or Folders) to locate Racer.exe, but DO NOT RUN THE PROGRAM -- note the location for use in Step 8. If you used the default location for the installation of RACER 2004, Racer.exe will be located in C:\Program Files\ETIPrograms\RACER. 4. It is strongly recommended that you exit all Windows programs before running the RACER v. 6.1 installation program on your computer. 5. Use Windows Explorer to navigate to your CD-ROM drive or to the location of the downloaded Service Pack Installation file; locate the installation program file (RACER 2004 SR1.exe); double-click on that file. 6. As the installation process begins, you will be prompted to confirm that you want to install the RACER Version 6.1 Service Release on your computer. Selecting "Next" will continue the installation process. Selecting "Cancel" will abort the installation process. 7. After selecting "Next" in Step 6, select "Install" to start the RACER Service Release Installation. 8. A message screen will appear notifying users they may receive a Version Mismatch error message when restarting RACER. After the user clicks "OK", RACER will restart and open a browse dialog to the new RACER.mdb. After the you open the new RACER.mdb under the RACER 6.1 folder in C:\Documents and Settings\User.Name\Application Data\Earth Tech\ (where User.Name is your login name [e.g. John.Doe]), you will be able to upgrade your existing database(s). Select "Next" to continue. 9. You will now be prompted to restart your computer before you can use RACER 6.1. 10. Your copy of RACER has been successfully updated to Version 6.1. Use the same icon previously used to open RACER v. 6.0.0 to launch the updated version of RACER.
